Being the crazy party animal that I am- I went out on Thursday eve for a little LG Fashion Week fun.  First up was dinner with my friend Ebony. Ebony grew up on a ranch in Alberta, and she makes cowboy related jewelry and handbags under the name Two Foals. It’s very authentic, as in, it ain’t no appropriation- she actually cuts up old boots she gets from her ranching family members. We met about a year ago when we had booths across from each other at The Clothing Show. She’s hilarious and slightly crude, with a sassy twinkle in her eye. I love those prairie chicks- she reminds me a lot of my super rad girl crew in Winnipeg, whom I wholeheartedly miss.

After dinner I checked out Women By Women, which was an exibition of 30 female Canadian photographers who shot some beautiful fashion editorials. My main girl Sarah Thomson was a part of it. Sarah has shot my look book for the past three seasons, and most of the stuff on my web store too. She’s my go to gal for photography- and is great to work with. She and I are going to do some arty pregnancy shots in a week or two. She is thinking nude- I am thinking unitard,  top hat and platform shoes.  We’ll see.

I was flying solo, but there were fashion people everywhere! It was a tightly packed room that I had to conspicuously navigate, hand protecting belly. My girl Sher was there, the other half of the E! News Weekend beauty team, yours truly being the wardrobe half.  I ran into a few other cool cats too, like Danielle, Philip, Anita, and the ladies from Worn. It made me wish that I got out more! There is a whole community of Toronto fashion types who I don’t know all that well, but would like to. I am a little out of practise on this whole socializing thing.

To make the evening even more sparkly and magical- Coco Rocha was there! Supermodel of the moment Coco Rocha. And she talked to me! I didn’t even notice at first, but I was trying to get by the same place she was, and we almost bumped faces and kissed! I stepped back, and she breezed by and said “Sorry”. Which I took as “I love your work”.  Thanks Coco!! I love your work too!

Good times!
